MAYFORD WINES PATRICIA McKENZIE MALBEC 2024 – GOLD 97 Points

A wine to celebrate the 80th birthday of Patricia McKenzie Anderson, OAM, mother of the winemaker, who notes that this wine also produced the most aromatic ferment of the ’24 vintage. It shows. Sage, wild thyme, rosemary, black cherry, plum and spice light up the aroma. There is a beautiful moment when dark fruits, herbs, spices and dusty cocoa awaken on the palate and meld harmoniously with gentle florals, vanillin oak, fine tannins and the silkiest of textures and just keep on going. Shows a side to malbec we so rarely see in Australia. Simply stunning!
