Anderson & Marsh is a collaboration between winemaker friends Eleana Anderson and Jo Marsh.

This exciting wine project has its origins in a clear, warm summer evening back in 2014.

The pair were sharing a special bottle of vintage Blanc de Blancs on the verandah, looking out over the Mayford vineyard and following the sun’s course as it slowly settled behind Mount Buffalo. It was one of those defining moment… the evening light had a clarity to it that brought focus to the blues of the mountains, fine bubbles danced in the glass, the energy of friendship and possibilities ran high. Such an elegant, creamy wine, so pure and crisp with such a racy acid line. Ideas arranged themselves. Surely such a wine could be made here in Porepunkah, the cool heart of the Alpine Valleys in northeast Victoria. If quality was the focus at every turn, if suitable fruit could be sourced, if the power of collaboration and friendship could be harnessed and if no compromises were made along the way, why not?

Four weeks later Jo and Eleana found themselves, snips in hand, selectively picking their very first parcels of premium Porepunkah Chardonnay and the process of weaving dreams began.

The first “Catani” Blanc de Blancs was released five and a half years later, bottle fermented in the traditional method, aged on lees for 60 months and finished bone dry under crown seal to preserve freshness. It was delicious. Since then, there have been many more sparkling releases and the label has quietly expanded. Both Jo and Eleana had a proven track record with Tempranillo under their own individual wine brands so when a parcel of excellent Alpine Valleys Albarino became available for the first time, the two decided to add a pair of Iberian varietals to the range and “Parell” was born.
